Maybe back in the 70′s it was, now it is little more than a publicity vehicle for mainstream artists. When I compare the content now with then, it blows me away. I have a compendium of Rolling Stone articles and it truly was a different magazine. Their canning of Lester Bangs was inexcusable. Hunter S. Thompson was the only thing they had going for them for awhile…
Other than editorial cartoonists like yourself, Rolling Stone is one of the only sources of unvarnished investigative journalism around
