Unfortunately, I would agree with Chomsky on this point – Obama is worse than Bush and Blair…. and Cheney. Face it, we’ve been had and the whole US political system is nothing more than a Fascist Whorehouse. With apologies to Mussolini and the Moonlite Bunny Ranch.
I’m far from an expert on these matters, but from what I remember, neither in Genesis 1, in which «God» is the protagonist, nor in Genesis 2 and 3, where the protagonist is called «Lord God», are Adam and Eve addressed in the language of morality ; there, instead it is raw Power that speaks. It seems to take a while before «God»/«Lord God» catches on to how useful it can be to disguise one’s commands behind a drapery of morality. Everybody has a learning curve….

It’s a 5000 year old book and clearly lost in translation. The real humor is that people continue to interpret it literally. Oh well, without it I guess it would be damned near impossible to defend the “Holy Land” and it’s “chosen people”.
