  1. The cruelest country in the world. Because it doesn’t have to be….

  2. Those who want to «bring the economy back home» might be advised to contemplate the fact that the situation that obtained in 1945, when the US held half of a war-devastated world’s wealth, was a historic anomaly and extremely unlikely to return. Rather, a world like that obtaining before 1850, in which China and India were responsible for half of world trade is far more typical and far more likely. The thing to fight for is to improve the wages and working conditions of all workers, irrespective of country. And to keep us on track, it should be noted that China is not at all the country in which such wages and working conditions are worst (which is one of the reasons why the giant multinations are contemplating moving more of their manufacturing efforts from that county ; the only thing holding them back is the lack of an adequate infrastructure in countries in which wages are lower)….

    Bring the economy back home.
