  1. We love you, Bernie! Welcome home!

  2. Good health to you and yours, Bernie. The fight is just begun. Now we must have the resolve to carry through with it. We know that you will forever hold forth for real freedom, equality and justice for all to your dying breath. May you, as a bonafide American hero, live long to lead us in our struggle.

  3. “Seas of blood have been shed for the sake of patriotism. One would expect the harm and irrationality of patriotism to be self-evident to everyone. But the surprising fact is that cultured and learned people not only do not notice the harm and stupidity of patriotism, they resist every unveiling of it with the greatest obstinacy and passion (with no rational grounds) and continue to praise it as beneficent and elevating. In its simplest, clearest and most indubitable signification, patriotism is nothing else but a means of obtaining for the rulers their ambitions and covetous desires, and for the ruled the abdication of human dignity, reason, conscience and a slavish enthrallment to those in power.” -Leo Tolstoy

“There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root.” -Henry David Thoreau

of course now – it is millions hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root…

  5. Some a-hole wrote “NO” on my Bernie bumper sticker today and now I have murder in my heart. Listen to Jill Stein talk about the whole Third Party candidate spoiler issue. “This politics of fear has actually delivered everything we were afraid of. All the reasons you were told you had to vote for the lesser evil—because you didn’t want the massive Wall Street bailouts, the offshoring of our jobs, the meltdown of the climate, the endless expanding wars, the attack on immigrants—all that, we’ve gotten by the droves, because we allowed ourselves to be silenced. You know, silence is not what democracy needs. Right now we have an election where even the supporters of Hillary Clinton, the majority don’t support Hillary, they just oppose Donald Trump…” She spoke eloquently. It’s worthwhile to listen to the whole talk on “Democracy Now”.

  6. The question is, Dwayne, whether that «vigilant suspicion» and «measured contempt» suffices to check those people who spend millions and millions of dollars to run the show….

    Henri

  7. “millions” should be “billions” please correct.
