I did this for Truthdig. Dig it.
«The play’s the thing,
Wherein I’ll catch the conscience of the king»
The evil empire’s current king may not possess what’s known as a conscience, but he is certainly touchy and thin-skinned when it comes to anything that might be regarded as criticism. I’m sure Hamlet would have no difficulty catching him up….
Beautiful, Mr. Fish.
“Ubu Roi (Ubu the King or King Ubu) is a play by Alfred Jarry. It was first performed in Paris at the Théâtre de l’Œuvre, causing a riotous response in the audience as it opened and closed on December 10, 1896.”
Trump, promulgator of the”science of imaginary solutions”
The title is sometimes translated as King Turd; however, the word “Ubu” is actually merely a nonsense word…. Makes sense to me.
