  1. In 1942, 757 rabbis – “the largest number of rabbis whose signatures are attached to a public pronouncement in all Jewish history” declared that Zionism-the state ideology of Israel-is an “Affirmation of Judaism” and “Anti-Zionism, not Zionism, is a departure from the Jewish religion”.

  2. Better late than never.

  3. Israel’s actions are the logical expression of US imperialism and hegemony– and US opposition to Arab (or any kind of regional ) nationalism that threatens US control over the region’s resources (i.e., oil). Follow the leash around Israel’s neck to see who is walking the dog.

  4. Marty Peretz, Jeffrey Goldberg, Charles Krauthammer, the Podhoretz clan, AIPAC, Commentary magazine, and American Likudniks, all without accusations of anti-semitism to use as both a sword and shield against critics of Israeli policy? A free, honest debate about the Israeli government’s actions and the U.S. government’s longstanding support of those actions? That’s some audacious hope right there.

  5. The toon isn’t attacking the LRA membership, at large. It implies that the leadership — the public faces — of the LRA are considered anathema to Christianity. Similarly, the leadership of Israel is accused of doing things that are WAY off the pathways of morality and behavior taught by Judaism. Probably the same can be said for the public faces of every religion (that remark should start some fire.)

  6. not sure what you’re saying. i was baptized and had my first communion in a lra ugandan church.
