  1. This year, as is tradition in my world every damn year, I was once again asked if Jews celebrate Thanksgiving. And my pithy response was to hand the kind gentleman asking the question of the year a small pox blanket. In his defense he did thank me for it. And quite happily at that.

People of European ancestry with a Zinn/Chomsky reading background, having a moment of guilt, rightfully , while Native Americans of the North Slope of Alaska gorge themselves on carribou, trout, turkeys flying out the ovens like startled flocks and a massive dance party going down in the community gym and not a word of genocide, is … denial of self Opus Dei style. Make your cake, eat it, and instead take your diet on Columbus Day when we can all walk-out and reenter Occupy style to get it renamed Indigenous People’s Day.
