  3. Movements require an educated mass of people. K-12 public schooling and, increasingly, colleges with no funding for the arts and humanities, ensures the state need not worry. The resistance won’t come I’m afraid until after the flushing sound of all that is good and shared swirls in all our ears and eyes on the big next huge shock like event. Not until the 90% of the 30% living just above the poverty line, who still read the NYTimes for content and can’t understand why they are part of the group that the NYTimes classifies as members of the “tight labor market” workforce, finds they are alone in a dystopian wilderness so crushing that they finally realize it was class warfare all along.
